We are recruiting an experienced Insurance Lawyer to sit in the Coverage and Insurable Risk Team in the Global Broking Centre in London. The successful candidate will be part of a team which is currently made up of seven coverage specialists, most of whom are qualified insurance lawyers.

Aon is seeking someone with substantial experience in insurance law, whether contentious or transactional. Applicants should be at least senior associate/counsel level in a law firm, a senior junior barrister, or equivalent from a corporate legal or wordings team. It is essential for the candidate to have significant experience interpreting insurance policy wordings and the ability to draft clear policy language. Experience in insurance product design and drafting will be highly beneficial.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, involving some office and home-based work. It can be part-time or full-time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing expert input on insurance cover terms for Aon’s clients
  • Advising clients and network offices on coverage terms
  • Negotiating with underwriters on placements
  • Drafting and negotiating insurance cover terms under Aon facilities
  • Assisting in designing and implementing new insurance products
  • Engaging with market bodies like Lloyd’s, LMA, LIIBA, and BIBA to develop market insights
  • Collaborating with coverage specialists across the Aon network
  • Working with the Claims team on coverage issues in active claims
  • Staying updated on legal and regulatory developments affecting insurance coverage
