What will you do as a Pension Administration Apprentice?
Pension administrators look after pension scheme members and ensure they receive the right pension at the right time. You will advise on rights and benefits to help members make informed retirement decisions.
Day-to-day tasks include:
- Communicating with clients, their members and advisers via email, letter, and telephone.
- Processing client pension payrolls, including calculations of net pay, arranging payments, liaison with tax offices and preparation of year-end returns.
- Preparing computer-generated benefit calculations and related correspondence.
- Attending team meetings to understand priorities and provide support as required.

What qualification will I study?
You will study for the Workplace Pensions Administrator Level 3 qualification in collaboration with our training provider. The programme includes a skills coach, mentors, and line managers to support you in both role and study. You will also learn how to use our systems and how to communicate information to members and advise clients.

We look for a friendly, customer-focused approach with good attention to detail. You should be organised, have good problem-solving skills, and enjoy working with numbers. You will be a strong communicator capable of building effective relationships with external clients and your team. You may already have relevant experience from employment (including hospitality/retail), volunteering, or hobbies.
Entry requirements
Ideally A‑Level standard or equivalent with grade C or higher in two or more subjects. You will also need a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or equivalent, including Maths and English.
