Job Description
Provide oversight on the outsourced Reference Data team at the Bank of New York with particular focus on effecting improvements.
Own and monitor order and trade execution routing, optimising STP rates.
This is a part-time, fixed-term contract (FTC) position for a duration of six months, working three days per week.
Main Purpose
Provide oversight on the outsourced Reference Data team at the Bank of New York, focusing on improving processes and ensuring data integrity across security, account, legal entity, fund, and execution data.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the integrity around security, account, legal entity, fund and execution data and act as a point person for all enhancements to current processes.
- Review charge rule set‑ups to ensure the efficient settlement of trades.
- Ensure due process is conducted on data requests and is compliant with internal and external controls and audit.
- Provide oversight of outsourced Reference Data function.
- Initiate and ensure completion of technical set‑up for new funds and managed accounts.
- Work with IT Operations to automate and maintain secure file delivery via s FTP and email.
- Highlight potential problems or delays to senior management.
- Manage and execute BAU projects where day‑to‑day functions allow.
- Key Skills & Experience
- Strong academics; educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Proven experience in Trade Operations within an investment management firm, investment bank or hedge fund.
- Knowledge of the Reference Data environment across a breadth of investment products.
- Understanding of financial markets.
- Experience using Excel and Bloomberg.
- Self‑motivated and responsive to a constantly changing environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the credibility and confidence to influence and bring people together from various groups and levels.
- A clear thinker with the ability to learn and absorb concepts quickly.
