This role sits within Preqin, a part of BlackRock. Preqin plays a key role in how we are revolutionising private markets data and technology for clients globally, complementing our existing Aladdin technology platform to deliver investment solutions for the whole portfolio.
You will join the Private Markets Data Engineering group, a cross-functional team responsible for transforming how the industry acquires, manages, and distributes private markets data using modern, scalable technology. In this role, you will shape core products that sit at the heart of BlackRock’s data infrastructure. Your work will enable interoperability across BlackRock’s data estate by ensuring every internal system can reliably consume and reconcile consistent data.
Key responsibilities:- Developing strong domain understanding and partnering with the business to translate problems into detailed requirements.
- Leading discovery to understand current workflows, data issues, and cross-system dependencies.
- Defining outcome-focused product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Analysing user needs, operational data, and feedback to identify opportunities and inform prioritisation.
- Working iteratively and sharing early feedback with stakeholders throughout the build process.
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to align on priorities, dependencies, and delivery trade-offs.
- Building strong relationships with internal users to support ongoing discovery and continuous improvement.
- Tracking and driving outcomes such as data quality, increased adoption across platforms, and reduced manual reconciliation effort.
- Experience participating in Agile ceremonies and collaborating within cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders to understand current processes and contribute to future-state workflow design.
- Exceptional requirement definition skills, with a data-driven mindset and the ability to adapt expertise as domain understanding deepens.
- Comfortable using evidence, analysis, and user insights to make informed decisions and translate complex problem spaces into clear, outcome-focused requirements.
- Experience managing change across systems and teams, including stakeholder engagement and dependency alignment.
