Location - London or Winchester with hybrid working as per departmental requirements (currently a minimum of 40% (2 days per week)). LCP is an award-winning actuarial and analytics consultancy providing market-leading capabilities and advice across pensions and financial services, energy and health. We use powerful analytics fused with human expertise to shape a more positive future.
We have an exciting new role sitting within the Performance and Technology team as part of the Business Development department. This role works collaboratively with the Sector and Service Marketing, Communications and Commercial Success teams to create, maintain and evolve processes and workflows simply, quickly and more effectively. Utilising data, technology, automation and AI where these add genuine value, with a strong focus on practical implementation and measurable impact.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role. It identifies where different teams within Business Development are spending unnecessary time or effort and works closely with them to streamline workflows, improve consistency, introduce practical automation, and strengthen how campaigns and BD activity are planned, executed and measured.
What will you be doing?
- A key objective of the role is to help marketing and BD teams spend more time on high-value, human-centred work by reducing manual effort, removing friction and making better use of tools and data.
- Partnering with Sector and Service Marketing, Communications and Commercial Success teams to identify process inefficiencies and implement simple, efficient and more effective ways of working that improve delivery, consistency and quality.
- Designing, optimising and embedding scalable marketing and BD operational processes, guidance and standards that enable and support efficient planning, execution and continuous improvement.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities to use automation and AI to improve speed, quality and efficiency. Help build colleagues’ confidence in using approved tools effectively, while applying pragmatic risk, quality and information-management safeguards.
- Using operational data and performance insights to identify bottlenecks, prioritise improvements and measure the impact of change against adoption, efficiency and delivery outcomes, and translate findings into clear practical recommendations and improvements.
- Leading or supporting (dependent on level and experience) an agile test-and-learn approach to process innovation, scaling successful improvements and supporting teams through change to ensure new ways of working are understood and adopted.
- Contributing to the development of the Marketing Operations function by fostering an always on approach to continuous improvement, collaboration and operational excellence.
What are we looking for?
- Experience in marketing operations, process improvement, enablement, workflow optimisation or a similar role, with a strong understanding of how marketing and business development teams operate across campaign planning, digital activity, communications, execution, delivery and reporting.
- Proven ability to identify inefficiencies, simplify processes and deliver operational improvements, including introducing the use of automation, workflow tools and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and delivery skills, with the ability to use data to identify opportunities, measure impact, and take initiatives from diagnosis through to implementation and adoption.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, build trusted relationships, influence without formal authority, and explain process or technology changes clearly in practical terms.
- Experience of supporting change and embedding new ways of working, helping teams adopt improved processes, tools and technologies successfully.
- A proactive, collaborative and curious approach, with a passion for continuous improvement, exploring new technologies, contributing ideas, and working effectively in a fast‑paced team environment.
What skills and qualities are we looking for?
- Practical and hands‑on, with a strong focus on delivery and measurable outcomes.
- Curious and improvement‑oriented, with a natural tendency to constructively question inefficient ways of working.
- Adaptable and pragmatic, with the ability to apply technology and AI sensibly rather than for its own sake.
- Confidence assessing, configuring and, where appropriate, developing AI‑enabled automations to address clearly identified workflow inefficiencies.
- Commercially aware, with an understanding of how effective operations support stronger marketing and BD outcomes.
- Collaborative and credible, able to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Organised and structured, able to manage multiple improvement initiatives at once.
- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to quality assurance.
- The ability to translate business / BD sector needs into clear process or automation requirements.
- Confidence challenging requests constructively and setting realistic expectations.
- Experience documenting processes, standards and operating procedures.
Technical Ability
- Essential: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and experience using workflow, automation or collaboration tools to improve business processes.
- Desirable: Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power Apps. Understanding of data structures and integrations across marketing technology platforms, such as CRM, marketing automation, CMS and webinar platforms. Experience of implementing or configuring AI‑enabled workflow tools within an appropriate governance framework.
