In 2020, LCP launched its Health practice, providing analytical and research services across healthcare and life sciences. Our team brings together clinicians, statisticians, epidemiologists, health economists and health data scientists, alongside LCP’s established actuarial, analytics and technology expertise, to develop innovative solutions to some of the most important challenges in health.

We have grown rapidly in response to strong demand for our services and are now looking for a Market Access Associate Consultant to join our team of experts and strengthen our capabilities in this area, where you will play a key role in providing strategic advice to life science clients to help them achieve rapid, broad and sustainable access to their innovative products. We are looking for someone who understands the needs of HTA and payers across the globe and can bring a high level of scientific rigor to the advice we provide our clients.

What do we do?

LCP’s Health team works across the healthcare and life sciences markets, combining health expertise with innovative approaches from our work in other sectors to tackle leading health issues. Some examples of the types of projects that the Market Access team undertake for our clients include:

  • Providing strategic recommendations on global clinical trial design to enable HTA and reimbursement success
  • Payer evidence gap analysis
  • Identifying optimal routes for access in different markets
  • Market Access/ pricing strategy development
  • Landscape assessments, including pricing and reimbursement, competitive and HTA landscape
  • HTA strategy and submission support
  • Trade and Channel strategy support
  • Pricing research and strategy development

As an Associate Consultant in the Market Access team in LCP’s Health Department, you will be involved in a diverse range of projects, covering both client and non-client work.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Conduct targeted secondary research utilising a wide variety of sources to address specific research questions i.e., understand disease and competitor landscape, current treatment pathways, pricing and reimbursement processes etc.
  • Conduct thorough payer research and analysis to identify opportunities and challenges for client products in various healthcare markets
  • Systematically search for qualitative and quantitative evidence to make strategic recommendations for clients
  • Develop market access strategies, including pricing and reimbursement strategies, to optimise product commercialisation
  • Develop value messages, dossiers and other related payer value communication materials e.g. payer value decks, toolkits and internal training materials
  • Support the preparation of client-facing presentations and reports, effectively communicating complex market access concepts to diverse audiences
  • Contribute to all stages of projects including: Proposal development, Secondary/ desk research, Market research and advisory boards, Project management, Report writing
  • Demonstrate and develop your expertise by contributing to thought leadership activities

Qualifications

A minimum 2:1 degree in a science subject, and a science/health-related Masters degree or PhD

Experience in a market access role, preferably in a consultancy setting

A good understanding of health economic concepts along with a thorough knowledge of pricing and reimbursement processes and pathways in key global markets including, but not limited to EU4, UK, and US

Knowledge of how a healthcare product is likely to be priced along with an understanding of concepts such as value-based pricing, price referencing, MFN, HTA etc.

Excellent grounding in relevant quantitative and qualitative methods (e.g. the running of payer research studies) with demonstrable experience in delivering previous market access focused research

Experience of developing strategic payer value communications

Excellent communication skills coupled with excellent presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to others

Excellent report writing skills

Initiative and creativity

Highly competent user of the whole Microsoft Office suite

Excellent organisational skills, able to multi-task
