Department Overview
Nomura's Global Markets Division handles client transactions for financial institutions, corporates, governments and investment funds around the world. We act as market makers, trading in fixed income products, including currencies, interest rates and credit in cash, derivatives and structured products. Key Objectives
The role will focus on analysing trades and risks, developing strategies, market-making and risk management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Keen attention to detail
- Proficiency in the concepts of Quantitative Finance and derivatives pricing / modelling
- Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders (e.g. Structuring, Sales, Quant Research and IT) is a major aspect of the role
- Independent thinker
- Strong analytical skills required, programming / spreadsheet writing ability helpful
- Highly energetic with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Ability to multitask in a high- pressure/fast-paced environment
- Self-starter
- Proven ability to learn and understand new concepts
- Willingness to go the extra-mil when required
- Excellent prioritization and decision-making skills
- Work to the highest moral code and advancing Nomura’s ethics in all areas.
