BlackRock is one of the world’s leading asset management firms and a premier provider of investment management, risk management, and advisory services to institutional, intermediary, and retail clients worldwide. We offer a range of solutions — from rigorous fundamental and quantitative active management approaches aimed at maximizing outperformance to highly efficient indexing strategies designed to gain broad exposure to the world’s capital markets.

Founded in 1990, BlackRock’s Financial Institutions Group (FIG) has focused on enhancing outcomes, returns, convenience, value, and transparency for our insurance partners and delivering holistic portfolio solutions. With over $700bn in assets on behalf of insurers, we have a dedicated team of insurance portfolio managers, relationship managers, actuaries, and strategies to deliver the breadth of BlackRock’s global resources. We also leverage Aladdin, BlackRock’s proprietary technology platform, and risk analytics, to support our insurance clients. The team in EMEA represents more than twenty professionals with different backgrounds and expertise in various functions that contribute to our success, including relationship management, markets, sales, strategy, regulatory, client service, and product development.

We are looking for a candidate to be a leading contributor within FIG’s London client coverage effort. The role is multifunctional, requiring strong execution, coordination across partner teams, and the ability to translate insurance-specific needs into clear client materials and engagement plans. A successful candidate will be able to leverage, and where relevant, develop:

  • A strong understanding of the insurance industry (assets, liabilities, and regulation) and its implications for portfolio construction.
  • Knowledge of BlackRock’s solutions and investment products and how they can address client objectives.
  • The ability to work across a broad range of asset classes and vehicles, including public markets and alternatives.
  • Comfort supporting cross-border engagement and coordination as FIG deepens its Global Coverage Framework.

Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a leading member of the team to deliver high-quality coverage for designated insurance relationships and assist Lead RMs on strategic accounts, with accountability for relationship strength, idea origination quality, and commercial outcomes.
  • Coordinating with partner teams (including FIG PMG, Insurance Solutions, GIP, HPS and others) to deliver coordinated client engagement, scalable solutions, and efficient execution aligned to client priorities.
  • Contributing to the development of the client coverage model by generating ideas, supporting implementation of improved processes, and helping embed more scalable and consistent ways of working.
  • Engaging with product and solution teams to provide insurance-specific client input, support the rollout of new products, and help ensure BlackRock’s offering remains relevant to insurance clients.

Knowledge/Experience required:

  • Proven track record in insurance and financial markets client coverage, with experience in presenting to clients, identifying new business opportunities and managing long-term client relationships.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a strong ability to multi-task, a passion for excellence, significant initiative and relentless attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a strong ability to translate complex concepts into accessible messaging.
  • Technical product and market knowledge across capital markets, asset classes, and investment vehicles.

To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of employee benefits including: retirement investment and tools designed to help you in building a sound financial future; access to education reimbursement; comprehensive resources to support your physical health and emotional well-being; family support programs; and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.

Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week.
