Department Overview:

The Wholesale Division is comprised of two core business units: Global Markets, which provide financial products and solutions and secondary market liquidity, and Investment Banking, which offers capital-raising and advisory services. The Division provides services to a broad range of clients including corporates, government entities and financial institutions both in Japan and overseas. The Wholesale Events Team is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of client-facing events for Nomura. Our primary mission is to create and deliver high-impact experiences that strengthen client relationships, enhance brand reputation, and support the broader business objectives of Nomura.

Role Description:

We are looking for a motivated and highly organized junior event planner and data content manager. This role is perfect for a proactive individual eager to further develop their event project and delegate management skillset. The successful candidate will be required to manage a number of projects simultaneously.

Key objectives critical to success:

  • Registration Support: Assist in the strategic management of the end-to-end registration process. This includes setting up registration forms, managing attendee data, providing on-site support and helping with post-event reporting to increase engagement and drive registrations for our events.
  • Event Support: manage smaller projects independently and assist in the execution of larger conferences, client events, and internal meetings.
  • Database Management: Help maintain and manage our registration databases, ensuring all participant information is kept confidential and accurate, and develop and maintain reporting dashboards for stakeholders to track event metrics, KPIs, and budget utilization trackers across all projects.
  • Communication: Draft and distribute invitations, confirmation emails, reminders, and other essential communications to registered attendees. Content owner for internal information pages ensuring collaboration across regions.
  • Hospitality Assets: day to day management of Nomura’s existing corporate hospitality assets, liaising with stakeholders to manage requests and optimize utilization.

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in events management in relevant industry – financial services or professional services preferred
  • Strong analytical and data management skill
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with event management software, preferably Cvent
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must be willing to travel within EMEA for onsite event delivery
