About this role

Join a high-impact team at the heart of the ETF ecosystem, where you’ll help shape, safeguard, and scale the primary market for iShares ETFs. As a Primary Market Specialist, you’ll be instrumental in protecting market integrity, driving innovation, and embedding intelligent automation across workflows. This is a unique opportunity to work with industry leaders, influence market architecture, and deliver solutions that power over $1 trillion in assets across global markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary Market Oversight: Act as the main contact for broker-dealers, market makers, stock exchanges, and internal teams for all aspects of primary trading of iShares ETFs.
  • Market Resilience: Proactively monitor market activity, manage crisis response, and engage with external partners (Authorised Participants, trading platforms, regulators) to ensure transparency, stability, and client trust.
  • Lead and contribute to initiatives that redefine the primary market operating model, including regulatory engagement, onboarding enhancements, and platform innovation.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to automate processes, optimise efficiency, and build scalable infrastructure.
  • Drive adoption of AI and data-driven decision-making across ETF workflows.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external liquidity providers and internal partners (portfolio managers, traders, technologists).
  • Influence and listen across functions and seniorities.
  • Support complex product launches, workflow enhancements, and continuous refinement of market structure and trading platforms.
  • Identify and promote awareness of operational and market risks, ensuring product integrity through automation and robust controls.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in related financial services environment; ETF or Risk Management experience preferred.
  • High motivation, adaptability, and ability to thrive under time pressure and ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate risks, opportunities, and strategic priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, with knowledge of Bloomberg, SQL, Python, and VBA desirable but not requisite.
  • Proven relationship-building abilities and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Professional discretion, accountability, and sound judgement.
