Join Man Group's Data Governance team as an Apprentice. The Data Governance team sits within the broader Information Security function and is responsible for making sure the firm handles personal and confidential information responsibly, in line with regulations and best practice. This entry‑level role is designed for individuals who are curious about how a global financial services business protects and manages the information it holds. Reporting to the Data Governance Office, the Apprentice will learn on the job whilst studying the Level 4 Data Protection and Information Governance Practitioner Apprenticeship. The 14‑18 month programme is delivered by Damar Training and covers the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to build a long‑term career in Data Protection and Governance. We are looking for someone enthusiastic, well‑organised and keen to learn. No prior experience or knowledge is required; full training and support will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Help maintain data records: Assist with keeping the firm’s records of how it uses information up to date.
  • Support in conducting risk assessments: Help risk assess new suppliers and vendors as well as new projects within the firm.
  • Respond to queries: Help manage the team’s inbox and ticket queue, answering straightforward questions from colleagues and escalating complex requests.
  • Support awareness and training: Assist in preparing and delivering training materials as part of delivering annual training to the firm.
  • Support incident handling: Help gather information when issues are reported, and contribute to keeping team documentation, policies and guides up to date.
  • Collaborate on projects: Work alongside experienced colleagues on team projects and improvement work, gaining exposure to how Data Governance and Protection runs in a Financial Services firm.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • To have lived in the UK or EEA continuously for the past 3 years.
  • Not to have previously studied the course content.
  • Not to undertake any other qualification during your apprenticeship.
  • To be able to apply your learning to your role.
  • Evidence of Math and English at GCSE Grade 4 or above.

Apprenticeship Programme Details

  • Qualification: Level 4 Data Protection and Information Governance Practitioner.
  • Training provider: Damar Training.
  • Duration: 14‑18 month programme (6 modules, plus end‑point assessment).
  • Assessment: Work‑based project with presentation and Q&A, plus a professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence.
