We have an exciting, permanent opportunity for a Senior Client Relationship Manager to join our Pension Administration business area, based from any of our UK offices (hybrid working). This is a key strategic role combining exceptional client relationship development and management with business growth responsibilities, within the pensions industry, locally and nationally. You’ll play a central part in deepening our client partnerships, supporting function area and business wide strategic objectives, identifying market opportunities, and contributing to the firm’s growth objectives through the continued expansion of our portfolio and engagement in new business activities.
Responsibilities
- Leading and strengthening client relationships with a portfolio of new and existing clients, acting as a trusted adviser.
- Acting as a subject matter expert, providing pensions consultancy support, technical guidance on administration issues, negotiating fees with clients, and resolving client issues or complaints.
- Managing significant client budgets and fee proposals and delivery of work within agreed costs.
- Supporting function specific client relationships and engaging with function specific business development activities.
- Using resources effectively, prioritising and delivering client deliverables on multiple projects as well as internal obligations.
- Supporting business development, client retention, cross‑selling opportunities, and promoting the firm within the industry.
- Leading client meetings, service reviews, and meetings with prospects including presenting reports, proposals and presentations for clients.
- Identifying growth opportunities and nurturing through the business development lifecycle, and up‑ and cross selling of services into other business areas and service lines.
- Attending seminars and leading on new business pitches, taking accountability for growing our client portfolio.
- Identifying potential risks and proactively managing any practical implications of compliance, information security, and legislative changes and developments – formulating strategies to address them effectively.
- Ensuring client satisfaction using MI, support and implement information security procedures, and keeping clients informed of legislative changes.
- Supporting and coaching junior team members while maintaining accountability for delegated work.
Qualifications
- Significant client facing experience working at a high level within an organisation administering pension schemes.
- Proven experience of defined benefit pensions, and an ability to provide pensions consultancy, acting as a subject matter expert on administration issues.
- Pensions (PMI) or related business qualifications with a recognised professional body, preferably APMI / FPMI (or equivalent) desirable.
- Demonstrated understanding of Pension Market needs across all sectors with in‑depth knowledge of Pension Administration.
- Proven commercial awareness and experience of budgetary control.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to be an effective team player with team management capabilities.
- Ability and confidence to host meetings and present to larger audiences.
- High level of professionalism.
