Job Description:
Our Business Analysts help to plan for the future in line with Group goals. This includes undertaking analysis, documenting and managing business requirements throughout the discovery and delivery lifecycle ensuring traceability of agreed requirements through delivery of new processes and/or system solutions. As a Business Analyst you will contribute towards continuous improvement and development of the Business Analysis practice.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Discover, analyse and understand the true business need and determine the business objective
- Establish in-depth understanding of the reasons to progress a particular change, incorporating analysis of data, performance metrics, and impacts including critical success factors
- Elicit, document, and validate business and data requirements using a catalogue of business analysis tools and techniques (e.g., process mapping, data modelling, user stories, use cases)
- Collaborate with Data Modellers, Data Engineering, Data Governance, and Analytics teams to ensure data requirements are understood, sourced, and structured appropriately for reporting and decision-making
- Define and understand the impact of change – including data flow implications, data quality considerations, and impacts on reporting, analytics, and regulatory compliance
- Review and analyse existing business documentation, processes and data flows, identifying opportunities to improve data quality, automation, and efficiency
- Perform gap analysis using ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ process or BEAM modelling to determine requirements
- Use analytical tools and techniques (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Excel, or Python) to interrogate datasets, validate assumptions, and support business case development
- Support development and testing, including UAT and assisting successful implementation of change
- Manage and influence key decision makers and stakeholders
What will make you stand out?
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within a regulated industry
- Has worked independently to elicit, document and analyse business and data requirements
- Experience across the full Project Delivery lifecycle within a well-governed environment
- Strong understanding of data architecture principles, data modelling concepts, and information flows across systems
- Competent in using SQL for data validation, analysis, and insight generation; experienced in querying large datasets
- Skilled in interpreting data and translating it into actionable insights through BI and visualisation tools
- Adept at partnering with data modellers, data engineers and data scientists to define data requirements and ensure data quality
- Strong working knowledge of Snowflake, SQL, ETL tools and data visualisation platforms
- Familiar with cloud ecosystems such as AWS or Azure and their integration with Snowflake
- Experience of different delivery methodologies including Prince2 and/or Agile/Scrum, with the ability to adapt analysis accordingly
