We have a temporary (initial 3 month fixed-term) opportunity for an Events Executive to join our Marketing team (hybrid working). Amersham or Birmingham considered.
Barnett Waddingham has ambitious growth objectives and the Marketing Team plays a crucial role in achieving these. The Marketing Team delivers a range of activities across campaigns, design, communication, media relations, events and insights.
The Events Executive is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of elements of our events programme, working closely with other Marketing colleagues across campaign planning, events, design, communications, digital and RR. The role oversees all event logistics and registration processes, ensures clear objectives are set from kick-off through to delivery, and manages budgets, suppliers and on-site activity to ensure each event runs smoothly.
The Events Executive also ensures event promotion is accurate and up to date across website and social channels, that all activity is managed in line with our processes, and that effective internal communication and post-event follow-up measures outcomes and a high-quality attendee experience.
Snapshot of your day:
- Work closely with other members of the Marketing and Events teams to provide support in delivering our events programme; and manage all logistics and registration processes for assigned events.
- Attend kick-off calls for all events with the team to ensure objectives are understood and set; and to act as a liaison between our other Marketing teams to facilitate the events.
- Understand and keep within the budget set for each of the events.
- Attend and manage events on-site where necessary.
- Ensure website and social media event promotion is always current and correct, and that all events management and processes are managed through our internal systems.
- Liaise with internal clients to ascertain their precise event requirements; internally communicate to promote our events; and facilitate the follow up process post event.
- Coordinate suppliers, handling client queries and troubleshooting on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- A degree with a concentration in Marketing or Events Management is preferable, but not essential.
- Previous events experience or a good level of previous marketing experience.
- Proficiency in delivering virtual or in-person events - advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to be highly organised, and able to work well with colleagues at all levels in the organisation.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.
- Professional services, financial services and/or pensions industry experience is beneficial.
