Are you commercially minded, curious about what is happening in the market and passionate about creating B2B experiences that have a genuine business purpose? We're looking for a B2B Marketing Engagement & Events Manager to join our Retail B2B Marketing team. This isn't purely an event logistics role. You'll be looking at our markets, audiences and commercial priorities, helping determine where we should show up, what we should talk about and how our activity can create measurable value.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building an understanding of our markets, audiences and competitive landscape to identify valuable engagement opportunities
  • Developing creative event propositions and content that respond to audience and business needs
  • Partnering with Distribution to align activity with strategic priorities and desirable sales outcomes
  • Planning and delivering in-person and hybrid events across the B2B engagement programme
  • Managing flagship conferences and relationships with venues, suppliers, sponsors, speakers and exhibitors
  • Managing event budgets, reconciliation and reporting
  • Evaluating performance through audience insight, CRM, Cvent and Distribution metrics
  • Ensuring event activity and communications meet relevant compliance, approval and data protection requirements

Who we’re looking for:

  • Experience developing and delivering B2B market engagement or event programmes
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to explain the business purpose behind an event or engagement opportunity
  • An ability to understand audiences, markets and competitors and translate insight into relevant propositions and content
  • Strong project management skills and evidence of managing multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • Excellent written, verbal, relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • Experience working with agencies and external suppliers
  • Confidence using CRM and event technology, with an openness to using AI to improve ways of working
  • Financial services or regulated-sector experience would be useful, but strongly commercial backgrounds are also welcome

Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
  • Life assurance
  • Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
  • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
  • Competitive family leave
  • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
  • There are many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
  • We’re creating net-zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in-person experience

At L&G, we believe it's possible to generate positive returns today while helping to build a better future for all. If you join us, you’ll be part of a welcoming, inclusive culture, with opportunities to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds, views, and experiences. Guided by leaders with integrity who care about your future and wellbeing. Empowered through initiatives which support people to develop their careers and excel.

We care passionately about outcomes rather than attendance and are therefore open to discussing all kinds of flexible working options including part-time and job shares. Although some roles have limited flexibility due to customer demand, we accommodate requests when we can.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t meet every single criterion in this advert. Instead, think about what you excel at and what else you can bring in terms of strengths, potential and connection to our purpose.
