Note: This role would suit an Engineer from a Commercial Vehicle, Forklift, HGV, Agricultural or Material Handling background.
Hours: 39.5 Hour week (Mon - Thur 7:00am - 3:30pm, Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm)

My client is a leading design and manufacturer of heavy duty vehicles. The company has a rich history spanning more than 50 years and is considered an industry leader, owning over 90% market share. Boasting an average employment service of over 8 years, they are looking to add a Workshop Engineer to their team. The company employs over 500 people in the UK and also has sister companies abroad.
The day to day of the Workshop Engineer could range from:
- Servicing and repairs to commercial vehicle and equipment
- Maintenance of vacuum and jetting systems
- The ability to identify faults to all systems, correctly diagnose repairs and parts required
- Accurately identify parts required and amend stock profile where required to improve first fix
- Completion of all paperwork in a timely manner to the required level of detail
- Customer communication and feedback on progress/providing accurate input to customer reports when required
- Adhere, contribute to, and work to Health and Safety and Quality regulations
- Maintain equipment calibration, service and inspection requirements in-line with company requirements
- Provide input to customer quotations with parts and labour estimates
Ideally the Workshop Engineer will have:
- Vehicle Electrics
- Pneumatics
- Hydraulics
- General Mechanical Skills
- Fault finding skills
- Welding capability and the potential opportunity to become coded to repair vehicle tanks
- Ideally have an engineering apprenticeship
- Knowledge of commercial vehicles, forklifts, complex engineered products or agricultural machines would be beneficial
- A full UK driving license
- Ability to read and follow drawings and diagrams
- It is essential that you are able to work in confined spaces and at height (once trained)
