About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Test & Quality Inspector to join a growing manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience inspecting cable assemblies, wiring harnesses and electronic components who is passionate about maintaining the highest quality standards.
Working in a fast-paced production environment, you will play a key role in ensuring products meet customer specifications by carrying out visual, dimensional and functional inspections. You will also work closely with production, engineering and quality teams to identify non-conformances, support root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out inspections in line with IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
- Inspect cable assemblies, wiring looms, harnesses, modules and sub-assemblies.
- Inspect hand soldering on a variety of connectors and cable types using microscopes, magnification equipment and measuring tools.
- Perform crimp inspections on wires ranging from 0.2mm² to 35mm², including RF cables.
- Test and inspect cabinets, panels and box builds.
- Complete 100% Goods In inspections.
- Identify defective components and manage quarantine procedures.
- Raise and maintain Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Calibrate production equipment including crimp tools, soldering irons and heat guns.
- Monitor ESD-controlled environments and cleanroom conditions.
- Raise change requests, permits and concessions where required.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
- Assist with other production activities when required.
About You
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, quality-focused and takes pride in producing accurate work. You will ideally have:
- Experience in a quality inspection role within electronics, aerospace, defence or cable assembly manufacturing.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 inspection standards.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience carrying out visual, dimensional and functional inspections.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Experience documenting inspection findings and maintaining quality records.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards would be advantageous.
