Stockport/Hyde £45,000 - £47,000

Hours Of Work:- 36 hours per week (Rotating Shift weekly)

  • Week 1: 06:00 - 13:30 Monday to Thursday, 06:00 - 12:00 Friday
  • Week 2: 13:30 - 06:00 Monday to Thursday, 12:00 - 18:00 Friday

Note:- Probation period hours will be 08:00 - 17:00 for training.

My client is a leading manufacturer of plastic and sheet metal components, and due to growth they are looking to increase capacity within the maintenance team. They have experienced sustained growth year on year and supply and sell products globally. With a rich history of excellence spanning over 50 years, this is a great opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a forward thinking, people first company.

Working on automated assembly cells to hydraulic presses, extrusion lines and injection moulding machines, this role would suit an electrically biased multi skilled Maintenance Engineer.

The Role of Maintenance Engineer:

  • To maintain all electrical and mechanical equipment on site including services, distribution, plant machinery and miscellaneous equipment in accordance with relevant current legislation and ensure that documentation and records are kept accordingly.
  • To carry out electrical installation work when required for new plant, machinery, equipment, and services ensuring compliance with the relevant current legislation.
  • To be proactively involved in monitoring the condition of services and machinery reporting defects.
  • To carry out both reactive and planned maintenance throughout the site on a variety of machinery and equipment.
  • Fault find, diagnose and repair (where possible).
  • Engage in fault finding on PLC/HMI controlled machinery.

Ideally the Maintenance Engineer will:

  • NVQ Level 3 or above in electrical/multiskilled discipline.
  • Apprentice trained (or equivalent).
  • Good mechanical knowledge/experience.
  • PLC, HMI experience.
  • 18th Edition (desirable).
