The company has been operating for a number of years successfully and supplies sub contract sheet metal and fabrication services into various industries. Due to growth, they are looking to add a Design Engineer to the small team of 3 that they have. Projects can vary from conceptual designs to amending drawings. There is scope for progression into a more senior role in the future.
The role of Design Engineer:
- Create and develop drawings through the use of Solidworks.
- Pre-Production drawing reviews.
- Prepare drawing files for quotation purposes.
- Good document control systems and part numbering.
- Liaise with Manager to ensure all projects are run smoothly.
- Liaise closely with customers on drawing specifications.
- An understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
- A knowledge of material properties.
- Knowledge or experience of working with an MRP system.
- Have a sound knowledge of engineering design principles.
Experience:
- Proficient in 3D software (Solidworks/Ineventor).
- 3+ Years experience in Sheet Metal/Fabrication Design.
- HNC/HND/Degree Qualified.
- Full UK Driving License.
Ideally the Design Engineer will be:
- Professional approach, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.
- Experienced using ERP or MRP systems.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to work in, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others to complete tasks and implement process improvements.
- Knowledge of Microsoft packages.
