We are looking for a Class 2 Relief Night Trunk Driver and Sortation Operative. This Relief/Sortation position provides flexible logistical and operational support across both trunking and depot activities. The role ensures the smooth running of transport operations by covering scheduled trunk routes when required, and assisting with key warehouse and sortation tasks when not on the road. This is a full-time, permanent role working 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on night shifts. Typical working hours are 20:00 – 04:00 (Warehouse) or 00:00 – 09:00 (Relief Trunk). Hours may change depending on business needs; therefore flexibility is essential.
When Working in the Warehouse You’ll be helping keep the warehouse running smoothly checking and moving stock, picking and packing orders, getting vehicles loaded on time, and making sure the warehouse is clean and safe. There’s also FLT work involved if you’re trained, or training can be provided.
When Covering a Trunk Route:
- Operate trunk routes as required
- Carry out route sorting at the local depot prior to departure
- Ensure the safe, professional, and timely completion of trunking duties
What You’ll Need:
- Full UK Driving Licence (held for at least 3 years, with no more than 6 points)
- Class 2 Licence
- Reliability and professionalism
- Previous warehouse and trunking experience (preferred)
- Good geographical knowledge and strong logical thinking skills
