U21 Academy Performance Analyst – support the development of Professional Development Phase (PDP) players as they transition toward first‑team football. Work closely with U21 coaches to lead and deliver evidence‑based video and data analysis across pre‑match, live, and post‑match phases, enhancing both individual player development and team performance. This role is central to the club’s player pathway and requires strong experience within elite academy environments and a genuine commitment to preparing young players for the professional game.

Responsibilities

  • Pre Match Analysis: Proactively lead the preparation of insightful pre‑match opposition analysis, providing coaching staff with clear tactical trends, strengths, weaknesses, and key player profiles to inform match strategy and planning. Create engaging pre‑match resources to support player understanding and awareness.
  • Live Analysis: Deliver comprehensive live analysis on matchdays, capturing and coding video footage in real time to provide coaching staff with timely, actionable insights that support in‑game decision‑making and half‑time feedback.
  • Post Match Analysis: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the delivery and development of post‑match analysis processes, educate players and colleagues on its application and value, and create impactful post‑match materials that encourage reflection and discussion of key learnings.
  • Training Analysis: Capture training footage, balance collection and usage, provide feedback, and link footage to identified team and individual development areas.
  • Performance Tracking: Support objective tracking of team and individual performance through analysis, interpretation, and visualisation of third‑party data sources. Contribute to the measurement of game model principles and player development, maintaining video databases linked to Individual Development Plans to document progress over time.
  • Coach Education: Contribute to the ongoing development of the Academy’s philosophy by applying best practice from training and match footage analysis. Work closely with the Academy Performance Analysis Lead and Academy Director to continuously enhance and update core session content and game model libraries.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in elite football analysis: Strong track record of delivering high‑level performance analysis within the professional game, with deep technical and tactical understanding of football.
  • Experience within academy football: Demonstrable experience working in youth development settings and support for player growth through performance analysis.
  • Effective communicator: Clearly and confidently present performance insights to coaches and multidisciplinary staff, tailoring communication to different audiences.
  • Adaptable and detail‑focused: Thrive in a fast‑paced environment, maintaining accuracy and high standards while adapting quickly to changing demands and priorities.
  • Advanced technical proficiency: Competent in key analysis tools such as Hudl Sportscode, Studio & Insight, Apple Keynote, Tableau and Microsoft Office, producing high‑quality outputs.
