We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join a friendly and busy on-site team for a treatment plant based in Fawley, Hampshire. The primary role of the Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer will be to perform E, C & I maintenance support to the site's Operations and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • To provide E, C & I support across the site
  • To conduct planned preventative maintenance in accordance with PPM schedule.
  • To perform all duties in accordance with documented work requirements, legislation and the company's policies and objectives, maintaining and improving performance in the areas of Safety, Quality and Environment.
  • To be responsible for ensuring that appropriate repair and maintenance requirements are identified and undertaken as necessary to maintain plant availability and improve efficiency.
  • Assist in detailed planning of and preparation for plant maintenance shut down periods.
  • Advise management of safety issues.
  • Conduct hazard and risk assessments for routine and defect maintenance tasks as required.
  • Recommend modifications or maintenance procedures that enhance the plant's performance.

Ideal / Desirable Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years in industrial environment, revolving around Electrical and/or C & I installation, testing, inspecting & calibration.
  • Enthusiastic and competent problem solver with a practical approach to engineering problems.
  • PC literate, and capable of learning how to use new software systems.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A minimum of 18th edition or NVQ equivalent and experience of maintaining industrial installations and equipment.
  • Good knowledge of Instrumentation & process controls including PLCs.

Desirable Skills

  • COMPEX 01 to 04 preferable but not essential as training will be given to the right candidate
  • Experience with working in a Hazardous Area Environment.
  • Waste management experience.
  • Continuous processing Plant experience
  • Recognised Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance or equivalent

Salary and Hours

  • Salary - £40,000 - £45,000 (including bonuses)
  • Hours: Day Shift Monday to Friday
  • Overtime available daily!
