Our clients based close to Winchester have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join their growing team.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for oversight of the quality-related performance of assigned product streams.
- Supporting daily shopfloor performance meetings and actioning quality related activities.
- Attending and facilitating production initiated QRQC events.
- Spearheading the continuous improvement culture in production and manufacturing teams.
- Ensuring compliance with processes and procedures through continual verification of operations activities.
- Conformity of product; compliance to design, customer and regulatory requirements.
- Capture and analyse manufacturing metrics to identify trends, gaps and opportunities for improvement; and facilitating the realisation of those improvements.
- Assist with machine and process capability studies using data and statistical techniques.
- Support the running of trials and other process improvement initiatives.
- Implement and support the 5S and workflow improvement activities in manufacturing areas.
- Ensure adequate installation and control of fixtures, jigs and tooling and calibration/maintenance thereof.
- Generate and maintain Quality Control Plans and process flow charts to support manufacturing processes.
- Adjudication and supporting technical liaison with suppliers on part concerns and rejections.
- Timely response to customer and internal concerns raised, including effective containment and corrective action as necessary to secure conformity of product and service.
- Supporting the RMA root cause analysis activities, liaising with the operations teams.
Engineering support
- Work closely with Design and Production Engineering to enhance the manufacturing quality assurance.
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of product and process flow documentation, SOPs and work instructions in conjunction with the Production Engineering function.
- Support the Product Development and Design Engineering function from a quality perspective as part of the APQP and PPAP processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience implementing culture change.
- Experience with supplier and component issues.
- Experience working with Quality Tools and techniques.
Working Hours
- 7:30 to 16:45 Monday to Thursday.
- 7:30 to 12:00 on Friday.
