The successful candidate will join a collaborative technician team responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation, organisation and maintenance of a wide range of specialist teaching and workshop facilities. These include wood and plastics workshop spaces, photography studios and darkroom facilities, printmaking equipment, ceramics facilities, and fashion and textiles resources. Equipment within the department includes laser cutters, bandsaws, circular sanders, sewing machines, heat presses, etching presses and kilns, alongside a wide range of hand tools, digital equipment and art materials.

The role would particularly suit applicants with practical making skills, an interest in art and design processes, and confidence working within creative workshop or studio environments. While experience across all specialist areas is not expected, applicants should be willing to develop technical knowledge and work flexibly across different areas of the department. Familiarity with workshop tools, equipment and relevant digital software, including Adobe Creative Suite, would be advantageous.
