Are you an experienced Surveyor ready to take the next step in consulting? We’re looking for a commercially minded Senior Surveyor to join our Business Rates team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your property expertise with the fast-paced world of rating consultancy — helping clients navigate complex assessments, reduce liabilities and unlock value across their real estate portfolios.

Why This Role?

Business Rates is a specialist area at the heart of property, valuation and advisory services — making it a compelling career path for Surveyors who enjoy technical analysis, client interaction and delivering tangible financial outcomes. You’ll bring a strong understanding of commercial property and valuation principles, alongside the confidence to advise clients in a highly consultative environment. That combination is exactly what sets great rating professionals apart.

The Role

As a Senior Surveyor in our Business Rates team, you’ll work with a wide-ranging portfolio of clients to provide expert rating advice, manage appeals and help businesses minimise their Business Rates exposure. Day to day you’ll be:

  • Reviewing rating assessments and property data to identify opportunities for savings and challenge
  • Managing Business Rates appeals and negotiations with the Valuation Office Agency and other relevant bodies
  • Advising clients on rating liabilities, reliefs and mitigation opportunities across their property portfolios
  • Building strong relationships with clients and becoming a trusted advisor on rating matters
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members, sharing technical knowledge and best practice
  • Staying current with legislation, case law and market developments affecting Business Rates
  • Contributing to high-quality client reports, presentations and recommendations with the professionalism expected in a leading consultancy

What We’re Looking For

  • MRICS qualified, or working towards qualification, with experience in Business Rates, valuation or broader commercial property
  • A strong understanding of rating principles and the UK commercial property market
  • Experience managing appeals, negotiations and client relationships
  • Commercially aware, client-focused and confident in an advisory role
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • A clear communicator who can translate technical matters into practical commercial advice
  • Ability to manage a busy and varied workload while maintaining high standards of delivery
  • A collaborative approach and interest in supporting the development of junior colleagues

If you’re technically strong, commercially driven and ready to grow your career in a high-performing consultancy environment, we’d love to hear from you.

The Package

  • Competitive salary + performance-related bonus & commission
  • Full support and study leave for professional development
  • Private Healthcare
  • Dental Insurance
  • 5% Company Pension (matched contribution)
  • Employee Wellbeing Programme supporting physical and mental health
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Reward Gateway — savings on gym memberships, holidays and more
  • Enhanced Family Friendly Policies
