Leyland SDM specialises in paint, tools, plumbing, electrical, woodwork & DIY materials from our 33 high street stores across London, supported by our central support team and distribution centre in Wembley. We are currently on an exciting journey and have some very ambitious growth plans. What you’ll do: Collaborate with senior management to craft and implement robust HR strategies that drive business objectives and cultivate a high-performance culture. Direct and mentor a team of HR and training professionals, elevating their performance and fostering a culture of continuous development. Spearhead initiatives to establish a compelling Great Place to Work culture, ensuring deeply engaged and motivated teams understand and contribute to overarching objectives. Serve as a steward for company values, setting the example and acknowledging progress, dedication, and individual growth. Oversee the full spectrum of recruitment and retentioninitiatives, ensuring legal compliance and retaining/attracting top-tier talent to the market. What you bring: Degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field + CIPD qualification. 5+ years’ HR managerial experience in retail or customer-focused industries. Strong HR knowledge, legal understanding, and exceptional communication skills. Strategic thinking, adaptability, and a passion for retail and customer service.
