We’re looking for a Principal of Product Management to lead the strategy and execution of our patent technology classification and taxonomy portfolio. This is a high-profile leadership role that will define how patent data is classified, understood, and leveraged worldwide. Your mission: deliver accurate, explainable, and scalable AI-driven solutions that power the next generation of IP analytics and decision-making.

  • Lead AI Innovation: Drive the development of cutting-edge AI/ML/LLM models, knowledge graphs, and multilingual pipelines to transform how patent data is classified and enriched.
  • Deliver Product Rigor: Lead discovery, problem framing, and prioritization; translate complex workflows into productized capabilities; run structured experimentation and A/B testing; define and monitor OKRs with dashboards and diagnostics.
  • Advance MLOps & Technical Excellence: Establish evaluation frameworks (precision/recall, coverage, drift, calibration); set launch thresholds and guardrails; oversee model/version management, rollback policies, monitoring/alerting, SLA targets, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure Trust, Security & Compliance: Govern taxonomy stewardship, versioning, and data provenance; ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, licensing, privacy, and Responsible AI standards; manage forums and playbooks for model risk, bias, and explainability.
  • Influence the Ecosystem: Build executive-level relationships with IP offices, corporates, and law firms; shape industry standards; and articulate differentiated value in a competitive market.
  • Accelerate Commercial Impact: Translate advanced AI capabilities into compelling customer outcomes, partnering with Sales and Customer Success to drive adoption, retention, and growth.
  • Inspire and Develop Teams: Lead and mentor product managers, foster a high-performance culture, and oversee key vendor and data partnerships that expand the reach and impact of our portfolio.

What We Expect From You

  • Proven leadership at scale: You have successfully led complex, high-impact product portfolios, influencing across global organizations at the Principal+ level.
  • Deep AI/ML expertise: You bring hands-on experience delivering AI/ML/NLP/LLM-based products at scale; from training and deployment to monitoring, governance, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic vision with commercial acumen: You excel at shaping long-term product strategies while translating advanced technology into measurable business and customer outcomes.
  • Executive presence and influence: You can communicate complex technical concepts to senior executives and external stakeholders, shaping industry conversations and standards.
  • Inclusive, empowering leadership style: You build and mentor high-performing teams, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and innovation.
  • Entrepreneurial agility: You thrive in dynamic, high-visibility environments, balancing systematic analysis with decisive execution to accelerate results.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Extensive experience in product management or adjacent leadership roles, with extensive experience driving platform, AI, and data-driven innovation. Proven success delivering AI/ML/NLP/LLM products at scale, including training, deployment, monitoring, and governance. Demonstrated ability to shape product portfolios that deliver measurable business impact, customer adoption, and revenue growth.
  • Expertise: Mastery of technologies at the intersection of knowledge graphs, embeddings/semantic search, multilingual pipelines, and human-in-the-loop systems. Skilled at building business cases, ROI models, and API commercialization strategies that influence executive-level decisions. Strong grasp of Responsible AI, data provenance, and compliance standards, ensuring trust, explainability, and ethical use of technology.
  • Leadership: Track record of mentoring and scaling high-performing product teams in complex global organizations. Recognized as an influencer in the IP and AI communities; through industry forums, standards engagement, or thought leadership. Inclusive and adaptive leadership style, with the ability to unite diverse stakeholders and drive alignment across global teams.
  • Other: Advanced degree in engineering, data science, law (IP), or business preferred. Strong background in patent data, classification systems (CPC/IPC, USPC), and IP analytics workflows. Willingness to travel as required for customer, partner, and industry engagement.
