This is a rare opportunity to deliver a market-leading international tax news service, expanding Tolley's global tax product offering. The role combines expert insight on international tax issues with strong editorial judgement, commissioning discipline, technical writing and product ownership. The successful candidate will deliver a genuinely practitioner-focused offering – including timely global updates, high-quality jurisdictional insight and authoritative analysis that professionals rely on in their day-to-day work. As part of the content delivery, the role involves actively developing contributor networks and using technology, including AI, to enhance the speed, quality and reach of the service.
Responsibilities
- Curate, verify and prioritise global news-in-brief tax updates, applying strong editorial judgement to ensure accuracy, speed and relevance.
- Produce practitioner briefings that distil key developments into clear implications, risks and recommended actions.
- Build, maintain and expand a global network of high-calibre contributors across leading law firms, accountancy firms and tax boutiques.
- Commission, edit and publish practitioner content – working directly with senior practitioners to challenge and shape commentary into clear, actionable insight.
- Maintain consistent editorial standards, tone and quality across all published material.
- Own the overall product – including the content mix, cadence, customer value and market differentiation – using data and audience insight to drive continuous improvement.
- Work with sales and marketing teams to support effective product positioning and go-to-market activity.
- Leverage AI and publishing technologies to improve sourcing, editing and production efficiency while managing associated risks.
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of international tax, with the technical credibility to assess developments and challenge expert contributors.
- Exceptional editorial judgement: ability to identify what matters, synthesise complex information quickly and communicate clear, actionable insight for practitioners.
- Ability to shape, refine and deliver technical content for a professional audience, including commissioning, editing and technical writing as required.
- Confidence engaging with senior practitioners and managing contributor relationships, including the ability to challenge and extract clear, usable insight.
- Strong delivery capability under time pressure, managing multiple outputs and deadlines.
- Commercial awareness, with an understanding of how content supports customer value, product development and growth.
