About the role: This high-profile role will be responsible for ensuring the technical delivery of the Books O2C project. You will be expected to take ownership across the different technical delivery streams to collate delivery estimates, manage delivery activities, report progress, lead issue resolution, and plan activities to minimize risk. You will report to the Program Manager and work in close partnership with the Consulting Director for the Order & Fulfilment system, who brings essential domain expertise into the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the analysis, design, and delivery of a new order management solution for the US & UK print books businesses using an Agile delivery methodology.
- Be accountable for delivering a working business and technical solution to test, ensuring it meets stated business and user requirements.
- Ensure a coherent business and technical approach to the solution.
- Document the entire agreed solution scope from a design standpoint, adhering to business and technical design principles and standards.
- Integrate the solution fully with previous Books O2C releases and other upstream and downstream projects that form part of the End-to-End customer and transaction journey.
- Coordinate the planning and prioritization of each Sprint.
- Manage the relationship between geographically distributed delivery staff from internal teams and third-party delivery partners.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks to the successful delivery of the solution.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience in successfully delivering business systems applications.
- Experience in leading technical teams, including teams of 15+ with multiple sub-team leaders.
- Deep practical understanding of various agile methodologies and delivery management approaches.
- Strong workshop facilitation skills and ability to work with data to formulate and support decisions.
- Ability to balance short-term needs with strategic aims and adapt to changing needs within the organization.
- Experience in leading teams in thorough risk and impact analysis across solution options.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, partnering and collaborating with senior stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Ability to bring together people with significantly different viewpoints and cultural values.
