About the Role
The Senior Corporate Counsel position will provide legal and compliance support to all the business verticals of LexisNexis Risk Solutions, which is a global provider of data and analytics products and services to the insurance, healthcare, financial, and government industries, to name a few. The legal and compliance team collaborates with the business in executing on the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. The position will require independently advising the business on matters requiring developed legal and counselling skills in multiple areas of expertise, specifically in the areas of regulatory and compliance review, data requirements, corporate compliance, and litigation and operational support.
Responsibilities
- Participating as part of a cross-functional team, provide insight on regulatory strategy and provide practical solution-based advice to clients.
- Collaborating with internal business and Government Affairs teams to analyze global regulatory changes affecting our business verticals and our customers.
- Preparing and analyzing compliance initiatives.
- Providing support for the business regarding third party audits and other matters.
- Responding to inquiries from regulatory agencies, customers and other third parties.
- Reviewing marketing materials and provide support to the marketing team.
- Anticipating and mitigating potential legal problems within the assigned business units. Develop strategies to reduce potential areas of risk.
- Working with internal stakeholders to analyze impacts of compliance and regulatory developments while supporting client implementation.
- Assisting other attorneys, compliance professionals, and management in higher level matters, as needed. Other projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree in Law or corporate governance.
- Considerable relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department is required.
- Experience counselling clients on legislative matters and working with regulators.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Have compelling legal analytical and research skills required.
- Experience in consumer financial services or data/technology industry is ideal.
