About the Role

The position combines people leadership, stakeholder management, operational excellence, project delivery, and continuous process improvement.

The Data Operations Manager is responsible for the effective management, governance, quality, and operational use of customer data across the organization.

The role leads a team responsible for delivering data operation services to primarily Marketing but also other business stakeholders while ensuring compliance with RELX data privacy regulations and internal RELX governance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily Data Operations activities across systems and teams, ensuring efficient delivery, prioritization, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure high standards of customer and account data quality, integrity, governance, and GDPR/privacy compliance.
  • Manage data access, uploads, segmentation, campaign readiness, and escalated CRM or data-related issues.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Data Operations team, fostering a collaborative, customer-focused, and high-performing culture.
  • Translate business requirements into effective data solutions and drive process optimization and automation to improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead targeting and segmentation initiatives, including support for CDP development, to improve campaign effectiveness and commercial outcomes.
  • Develop and enhance KPIs, dashboards, reporting, and measurement frameworks to track operational, campaign, and data performance.
  • Partner with commercial and cross-functional stakeholders to provide actionable insights, continuously improve service delivery, and support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in Data Operations, CRM, Data Management, or a related operational function.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing a team.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, governance, GDPR, and data privacy principles.
  • Experience working with CRM systems, data platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience creating and enhancing dashboards and operational reports.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical and scalable data solutions.
