We are looking for an energy market reporter to join our editorial team in our offices at the heart of The City, London, covering developments in energy markets. At ICIS, our mission is to optimize the world's resources. We help companies make strategic, sustainable decisions by bringing transparency to markets across the world. We create a comprehensive view of commodities markets, providing companies with the data and intelligence to successfully navigate across global value chains every day. Our customers benefit from instant access to price assessments, reports and forecasts, a dedicated news channel and supply and demand data.

Supported by our editorial and analyst teams, you will break news, assess prices and produce analytical content. You thrive on writing exclusive news and explaining what this means for our readers. You will contribute to the profile of ICIS by attending and speaking at industry events, engaging with and nurturing key contacts. International travel is encouraged. You will collaborate closely with other business functions at ICIS and contribute ideas related to new coverage and services, with the aim of expanding the ICIS business and meeting our customer's needs. As part of a dynamic, international team, you will be trained to be your best, to learn and to grow. You will become a recognised expert in your field which can open doors to a wealth of diverse opportunities at a vital time of global transition in the energy and finance sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Covering a portfolio of energy markets in Europe
  • Writing insightful, compelling news and market analysis and assessing prices
  • Building and nurturing an international network of industry contacts
  • Reporting on complex topics in an engaging and timely manner including use of data visualisations
  • Break news, assess prices and produce analytical content for readers
  • Write exclusive news stories that explain market implications
  • Attend and speak at industry events and nurture key contacts
  • Collaborate closely with other business functions at ICIS and contribute ideas for new coverage and services to expand the business

Qualifications

  • Knowledge or interest in markets and economics
  • High degree of numerical accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent written and spoken English (European languages would be an advantage but not necessary)
  • Passionate, curious, high-performing, accountable mindset
  • Price/commodities reporting experience or knowledge of energy markets would be an advantage but is not required
