Lexington is hiring a Financial Controller to take ownership of financial control and reporting across our group a working directly with the CFO, CEO and leadership team on the numbers that shape the business.

Key responsibilities
- Financial control: Monitor and reconcile accounts in Deltek across multiple companies, keeping financial information accurate, complete and current.
- Month-end reporting: Support the CFO in producing monthly management accounts, reporting packs and financial analysis for leadership and the parent company.
- Budgeting & forecasting : Support the CFO with budgeting, forecasting and financial insight to drive business performance.
- Cash & banking: Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, manage cashflow, authorise payments and report to key stakeholders.
- Payroll & benefits: Manage payroll, pensions and employee benefits using Sage Payroll, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments, HMRC submissions and pension contributions.
- Tax & compliance: Prepare, reconcile and submit VAT returns, maintaining ongoing statutory compliance.
- Audit & external relationships: Liaise with auditors, tax advisers and other professional bodies to support annual audits and statutory reporting.
- Financial operations: Maintain journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation schedules and fixed asset registers while upholding strong financial controls.
- Business partnering: Work with senior stakeholders across the business, providing financial insight to support commercial decisions.
- Team support: Guide and support junior finance team members, collaborating across the wider finance function.
- Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting as the business grows.
What you'll bring:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with 5+ years PQE
- Strong background in financial control, management accounting and reporting
- Commercial, analytical and confidence with senior stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems experience
- Experience in managing payroll
