What you'll be doing...

As Players' Chef, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day food provision for Edinburgh Rugby players and performance staff, preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that support training, recovery and matchday performance. Working closely with performance, nutrition and medical teams, you'll create varied, seasonal menus that balance exceptional flavour with the nutritional demands of elite sport. You'll ensure meals are delivered to precise timings, cater for individual dietary requirements and maintain the highest standards of food safety, allergen management and kitchen hygiene. Alongside supporting Edinburgh Rugby, you'll also play an important role within the wider Murrayfield culinary team, contributing to premium hospitality, conferences, major sporting events, concerts and VIP dining when required.

Working Pattern: Primarily Monday to Friday daytime, with flexibility required for match days.

What can you bring?

  • We're looking for a passionate and organised chef who thrives in a high-performance environment. You'll ideally have:
    • Professional chef experience within a high-quality or high-volume kitchen
    • Excellent organisational and time management skills
    • A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen management
    • Experience creating fresh, varied menus using seasonal ingredients
    • The ability to work independently while collaborating with a wider culinary team
    • A genuine interest in sports nutrition and athlete performance

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience working in professional sport or with elite athletes
  • Knowledge or qualifications in sports nutrition
  • Experience in premium hospitality, events or large-scale catering

Why this role?

This is a rare opportunity to combine a passion for food with elite sport. You'll work directly with Edinburgh Rugby players and performance staff while gaining specialist experience in sports nutrition, all within one of Scotland's most iconic sporting venues. From supporting player performance to delivering world-class hospitality for major events, no two days are the same.
