We’re looking for an analytical and proactive Financial Controller to join our team and support the Divisional Financial Manager within our Education division in driving performance across a busy and evolving division. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into the detail, identifying trends and issues, and working collaboratively with operational teams to implement meaningful solutions. You’ll play a key role in analysing commercial performance, improving compliance, and delivering clear financial insights that support business growth. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the Divisional Financial Manager with a variety of financial and commercial workstreams based on evolving business needs.
  • Analysing areas of commercial underperformance and providing actionable recommendations to improve results.
  • Identifying and addressing areas of non‑compliance, ensuring processes and controls are followed effectively.
  • Partnering closely with operational teams to understand challenges and develop practical, commercially focused solutions.
  • Reviewing uptake and performance across the division, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Preparing and calculating client‑facing documents accurately and clearly.
  • Producing financial analysis, reports, and insights to support decision‑making and drive business performance.
  • Supporting and coaching colleagues, helping to foster a collaborative and high‑performing culture.

What Can You Bring?

  • Previous experience in a finance, commercial analysis, or financial control role.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to confidently influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly to non‑finance teams.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to support and coach others.
  • AAT qualified or actively studying towards a finance/accounting qualification.
  • Experience delivering insights that improve commercial and operational performance would be highly advantageous.
