Role Description

We are seeking a full-time IAAS Accredited Immigration Caseworker (Level 2 Senior Caseworker or Level 3 Advanced Caseworker) to join our Manchester team. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of immigration and asylum matters, including:

  • Asylum claims
  • Human rights applications
  • Family migration
  • Private life applications
  • Fresh claims
  • Appeals
  • Judicial review preparation
  • Legal aid matters

The role will involve managing a caseload independently in accordance with IAAS and Legal Aid Agency standards, preparing legal representations and supporting evidence, conducting legal research, liaising with clients and third parties, and assisting with supervision and compliance requirements where appropriate. The successful candidate will play an important role in the continued development of the department and in maintaining high professional and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • IAAS Level 2 Senior Caseworker accreditation or IAAS Level 3 Advanced Caseworker accreditation
  • Strong knowledge of UK immigration, asylum and human rights law
  • Experience managing immigration and asylum files independently
  • Experience preparing legal aid applications and working within LAA/SQM requirements is advantageous
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and case preparation skills
  • Strong client care and communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload independently and contribute effectively within a team
  • Experience with appeals, asylum claims, fresh claims and complex human rights matters preferred
  • Solicitor qualification is not essential provided IAAS accreditation requirements are satisfied
