We are seeking a capable and committed Criminal Duty Solicitor who values high-quality advocacy, strong compliance standards, and long-term career development rather than a volume-only environment.
The Role
You will manage a varied criminal caseload, including police station advice, Magistrates’ Court advocacy, and preparation of matters progressing towards the Crown Court. This role is suitable for a Duty Solicitor who wants:
- autonomy and trust
- flexible and remote working arrangements
- a clear pathway towards future senior or supervisory responsibility
Key Responsibilities
- Police station advice and representation, including duty slots
- Magistrates’ Court advocacy and case progression
- Preparation of Crown Court matters
- Full conduct of files from instruction to conclusion
- Delivery of high standards of client care
- Compliance with Legal Aid Agency and SRA requirements
- Contribution to the development of a growing criminal department
About You
You will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) in good standing
- Hold CLAS accreditation and current Duty Solicitor status
- Have solid experience across police station and court work
- Be confident managing your own caseload independently
