As the Transport and Fleet Manager, you are involved with the client very early on in their claim and will make all efforts to deliver a hire bike to the client and collect their bike as soon as possible.

To support and share, with the Transport and Logistics Director and Depot colleagues, Management control and responsibility for the department; to assist in the management of all depot staff, motivating the team with a view to ensuring that all clients claims are professionally and swiftly dealt with, whilst always enhancing business processes and achieving business objectives.

To develop teams that deliver both quality and results.

  • To monitor and control all revenues, costs and group/company KPI’s. provide accurate MI
  • Key Accountabilities
  • Manage and coordinate all transport activities to ensure timely delivery of motorcycles.
  • Ensure hire bikes are collected and delivered within established SLA’s.
  • Personally handle and resolve any complains that can’t be resolved by a driver or Transport Assistants.
  • Oversee the management of depot assistants, providing guidance and support as necessary.
  • Carry out regular 121’s with the support of the Assistant Transport Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of transport operations, including schedules, routes, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Manage and route plan daily/weekly job allocations.
  • Utilise Excel and other IT tools to analyse data and improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards within the transport sector.
  • Develop and implement efficient transportation strategies that align with business needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of transport functions within the overall business strategy.
  • Management and oversight of the Motorcycle Hire Fleet ensuring optimal availability, balanced utilisation, condition and compliance at all times.
  • Management and oversight of PCN’s (Parking Charge Notices) and DVLA contraventions, for example Speeding tickets.
  • Working closely with the Operations and Logistics Director and the Operations Manager on CAPEX, fleet strategy, and fleet growth plans, to include lifecycle planning, de-fleet planning, and budgeting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Build and maintain excellent, value-adding working relationships with immediate colleagues across the Lexham Group to explore new ideas and developments alongside sharing best practice.
  • To resource manage and deploy resource in accordance with the business need.
  • Management of costs.
  • Undertake regular audits.
  • Ensure training needs are identified and meet all the requirements of each team member and relevant training is delivered.
  • Produce and compile management information and statistics
