There can’t be many better places to spend the next 12 months in the legal sector in London. And a perfect time to start something new, January. With around 170 people under one roof in the heart of the city, the office is big enough to feel part of something but small enough for you to build strong relationships and be recognised for your contribution.
On a global scale this firm is big (very big!) but you’ll be joining a small team on the ground in London, reporting to the director of finance who is also based in the same office.
In basic terms this is what you will be doing:
- You will lead and support a small finance team of 3, making sure bills, payments, and records are accurate.
- You will handle VAT returns and ensure compliance with local tax rules, working with outside advisors as needed.
- You will prepare audits and financial reports, monitor cash flow and bank accounts, act as the main contact for auditors, banks, and tax authorities, and assist with yearly budgets and monthly reports.
What you’ll ideally need to have:
- Experience leading or supervising a finance team, ideally in law firms or professional services.
- You should have good knowledge of VAT, EMEA tax rules, and multi-currency accounting.
