The Role
We are seeking a highly capable Learning Program Manager to lead the development and delivery of the Lex Mundi Institute (LMI) - distinctive, high-impact learning and leadership development experiences designed to strengthen capability, foster global relationships, and support the continued success of our member firms. Reporting to the London-based Vice President, Events and Learning, this is a pivotal role within the Learning & Events team, responsible for shaping best-in-class leadership and professional development programs for lawyers across our global network. You will support the design and delivery of innovative learning experiences, partnering with senior stakeholders and faculty, and ensuring exceptional execution across all programs. You will play a key role in evolving the LMI offering to meet the changing needs of the legal profession, ensuring our programs remain relevant, differentiated, and impactful.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, intelligent, experienced, down-to-earth individual with strategic vision and excellent management skills. 5-6 weeks of annual international travel is required.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Vice President, Events and Learning (E&L), to shape and deliver the strategic direction of the LMI, ensuring alignment with member firm priorities, online provision, and the evolving legal landscape.
- Lead on the development and delivery of all in-person, immersive, residential LMI programs, ensuring they are outcome-driven, with clear learning objectives and measurable impact.
- Source internal and external faculty and collaborate with them to develop programs and create a positive learning experience.
- Oversee program quality and continuous enhancement of the participant experience, using best practices to evaluate program effectiveness, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Take ownership of LMI budget, including planning and forecasting, tracking all income and expenditure, reconciling payments, and delivering regular financial reports with insights into variances and performance.
- Manage program logistics from planning through delivery, including working with preferred suppliers to identify venues, venue contracting, and coordination; managing and maintaining all learning materials, keeping them up to date; supporting faculty preparation; and identifying and booking social activities.
- Deliver a high-touch, end-to-end participant journey, from nomination through post-program follow-up; dealing with inquiries, tracking, payments, cancellations, and monitoring program capacity to mitigate attrition risks.
- Develop alumni engagement strategies to strengthen the global LMI community.
- Manage online presence and booking systems, including building and managing program registration within the Cvent event software.
- Develop marketing materials and emails in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Attend all relevant programs in person, which includes international travel 5 – 6 times per year.
Online Programs
- Collaborate with the Learning Content Manager on future plans, ensuring LMI Online courses and in-person programs are aligned.
- Work with the Learning Content Manager to increase usage of the Mentoring and Secondment platforms with LMI Alumni.
Conference programming
- Collaborate with the Vice President E&L, Director of Events, the Lex Mundi Senior Team, and host firms in the development of themes and programs for conferences.
- Support logistics for the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Talent Conference and virtual calls.
- Deciding the format, synthesizing suggested topics from calls into relevant programming; researching and securing speakers; assisting with registration, speaker, and AV management, and other logistical duties as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
- Work with the Vice President, E&L, and Learning Content Manager in organizing and coordinating regular outreach to those in the professional development/talent management/knowledge management positions at member firms and establishing links between similarly situated firms.
- Research and recommend topics for best practices guides that reflect Lex Mundi's strategic initiatives and members’ needs; draft guides of best practices, working with consultants as necessary; work with Marketing and Communications in terms of the layout and promotion of the guides; and organize live chats to raise awareness of Lex Mundi’s best practices series.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments across time zones to contribute to the overall success of the entire organization.
- Build relationships with multiple stakeholders across the organization and membership.
- Provide input for Board reports when requested.
The successful candidate must have:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, Master’s degree strongly preferred.
- Proven experience (typically 6+ years) in learning, development, and/or talent management with a professional services firm, law firm, educational provider to the legal industry, or similar.
- Demonstrable skills in designing and deploying impactful learning experiences across functions and seniority levels.
- Ability to identify training needs and collaborate with trainers/suppliers/faculty to provide successful, innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, global programs, end-to-end.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience working with senior leaders.
- Strong project management and organizational capabilities, including managing multiple training programs and conflicting priorities, planning, and resource allocation.
- Experience managing budgets and payments, including contract management with external vendors.
- A strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, delivery-focused approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- High levels of adaptability, resilience, and problem-solving ability.
- Commitment to staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and innovations in learning and development to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
Compensation:
The candidate will receive annual compensation of between £65,000 - £80,000. A pension plan with a 5% match is also provided.
