Deputising for the Head Greenkeeper in their absence.
Preparation and maintenance of our 18-hole course, practice areas and general amenity areas.
Assisting with leading and motivating a team with clarity and consistency.
Support in coordinating the maintenance of machinery/equipment/irrigation and service contracts.
Joint planning and decision-making on daily operations and long-term strategy.
Delivering high-quality playing surfaces across all areas.
Assisting with managing the machine/equipment/buggy fleet to ensure all equipment is correctly maintained and serviced.
Hands-on involvement in mowing, spraying, irrigation and renovation works.
Coordinating machinery care and safe systems of work.
Help train, develop and motivate staff to continuously develop their technical skills.
Health and Safety management.
Some weekend cover on a rota basis.
Enjoys working closely with a Head Greenkeeper and contributing ideas.
Communicates openly, honestly, and constructively.
Leads with calmness, fairness, and pride.
Brings energy, ownership, and a positive influence to the team.
Supports and mentors others.
Thinks ahead, solves problems, and takes initiative.
Has an interest in golf and a good understanding of the needs and wants of the golf consumer.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Sports Turf Maintenance.
- Chemical Spraying qualifications are preferred.
- Chainsaw qualifications preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of the use and maintenance of modern greenkeeping machinery.
- Knowledge of automated irrigation systems.
- Knowledge of all health and safety legislation relating to greenkeeping equipment and also chemical and waste handling.
