This is an outstanding career opportunity with a market leader committed to providing a diverse and meaningful range of leisure and culture-related activities for the local communities in which we serve. This is an exciting time for the right candidate to take the reins at Southwell Leisure Centre. Under new operation with Creating Active Futures from 1 April, the centre will be undertaking a full gym refurbishment as well as the re-opening of the main swimming pool following a period of closure.
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Centre Manager position will be responsible for all aspects of the management of the centre, managing a team of staff, ensuring customer service and developing the overall financial performance and profitability of the business.
Responsibilities- Take responsibility for the effective management and operation of Southwell Leisure Centre.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and satisfaction while enhancing safe and enjoyable usage of the facilities.
- Ensure the service provided meets the requirements of the client as defined within the service specification and consistently drive the centre's commercial performance.
- Develop your skills and reputation while enhancing safe and enjoyable usage of the facilities.
- Manage and develop staff to meet customer and operational requirements, developing a dynamic, responsive and customer-focused team through communication and management styles.
- Ensure the highest possible standards of health & safety and customer care are delivered consistently.
- Demonstrate a proven record of managing teams of staff, be commercially focused, and have an understanding of budget management, while continuously developing and improving operational procedures.
- Possess excellent communication, customer and client liaison skills.
- Flexibility and commitment to customer service are essential.
- Ideally have experience of managing both wet and dry leisure facilities.
- Ideally have experience of project and capital investments.
- Experience or awareness of Local Authority contract management is preferred.
- Ideally you will have a recognised qualification in leisure management, sports development or a related subject, preferably at degree level or NVQ 3.
