Job Type: Part Time, Permanent - 30 hours per week

Primary Objectives

  • Oversee the new power assisted exercise suite at Thornton Health & Fitness Centre.
  • Lead on the implementation of tailored physical activity programmes and the delivery of group-based activity.
  • Champion the benefits of a healthy lifestyle to community members and partners across Wyre.
  • Ensure usage data is generated and stored in a professional manner.

Day-to-Day Tasks

  • Undertake client consultations to identify appropriate physical activity opportunities.
  • Deliver Active Wellness inductions and reviews.
  • Liaise with local authorities and medical practitioners.
  • Explore innovative, accessible new ways of delivering physical activity opportunities.
  • Represent the wellness team in meetings.
  • Assist with the promotion of the Active wellness suite and health and physical activity programmes.
  • Plan and deliver monthly wellness events for members.
  • Deliver low impact classes.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleaning and health and safety within the wellness suite.
  • Cover shift patterns for leave and sickness as required, including weekends.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualifications: Must hold a Level 3 GP exercise referral qualification or equivalent, along with experience of working within the field of health and physical activity.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills are also required.
  • DBS: The position is classed as a regulated post and requires a DBS Disclosure. If the individual does not already hold one, they will be submitted for a DBS check.
  • Personal Characteristics: Must be able to gain acceptance and respect from clients and teams, build strong relationships, communicate at different levels, meet the demands of the role by working additional hours when required, demonstrate clear identification with customer requirements, be committed to good employee relations and quality training, perform recreation assistant duties when required, and work from various locations.
