Private Client Associate (Landed Estates & Succession Planning)

London | 1–4 PQE


This opportunity sits within one of the UKs most respected private client practices, advising multi-generational families, business owners and estate holders across the full spectrum of landed estate matters.


The team acts as trusted advisers to prominent UK families with significant rural assets, heritage property and complex succession planning needs. Their work blends tax and trust expertise with practical understanding of estate management, governance and long-term family strategy.


Associates here are given early responsibility, genuine client contact and the chance to develop relationships that last for decades. You will work alongside leading lawyers in the landed estates space, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of estate ownership and family transition.


The Role


The work is varied and intellectually engaging, including:


  • Advising on succession and tax planning for landed estate and family business clients
  • Structuring ownership through wills, partnerships, companies and trusts
  • Supporting with estate governance, family constitutions and long-term wealth transfer
  • Advising on acquisitions and disposals of rural property and heritage assets
  • Involvement in projects relating to natural capital, rewilding, forestry and biodiversity
  • Managing your own caseload and contributing to wider client relationships
  • Developing business and maintaining strong intermediary connections


About You


  • 1–4 PQE qualified solicitor in England & Wales
  • Experience in private client, landed estates or rural property work
  • Sound understanding of succession, trust and tax principles
  • Commercial awareness and genuine interest in heritage and family governance
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Collaborative, ambitious and looking to grow within a market-leading team
