This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-quality matters across both contentious and non-contentious employment law, while being part of a collegial, supportive and entrepreneurial environment.

The Firm

Originally a boutique employment practice, the firm has grown into a full-service workplace law specialist with offices in London, Reading and Bristol. With around 90 staff (65 fee earners), it attracts lawyers from leading Magic Circle and international firms who want a better balance while still working at the highest standard.

The practice spans:

  • Employment (contentious & non-contentious)
  • Immigration
  • Education
  • Investigations
  • Pensions

The Role

You will enjoy a varied caseload covering both employer and senior employee work, including:

  • Employment Tribunal and High Court litigation
  • Settlement agreements
  • Contracts, policies and day-to-day advisory for employer clients
  • Strategic issues, reorganisations and business transfers

You will work with a range of partners rather than being tied to one team, giving you broad exposure and early responsibility.

Culture & Environment

  • Positive, collegiate and non-hierarchical – partners are approachable and genuinely collaborative.
  • Juniors are trusted with responsibility early and supported through structured career development.
  • Hybrid working: 3 office / 2 home, with sensible flexibility for family commitments.
  • Offices are largely open plan, designed to encourage cross-team working.

Rewards & Benefits

  • Salary: up to £75k for Solicitor level (2-3PQE)
  • Employee Ownership Trust bonus – which allows a % of bonus to be paid tax free, for all employees
  • Performance bonus – discretionary
  • 28 days’ holiday + birthday off, 5% matched pension, enhanced maternity/paternity leave, PMI, life assurance, income protection, lifestyle discounts

Interview Process
