Lex Exec is working with one of London’s leading boutique law firms to recruit an Employment Senior Associate (6–9 PQE) into its highly regarded employment practice.
The firm is particularly renowned for its work for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families and privately owned businesses, and is consistently ranked among the leading firms in London across private client, family, contentious trusts and related areas.
Its Employment team has developed an excellent reputation for sophisticated employment work, particularly where matters involve senior executives, founders, entrepreneurs and complex or sensitive workplace issues.
The Opportunity
Joining an established team of Partners, senior lawyers and Associates, the successful candidate will operate as a senior member of the practice, taking the lead on complex matters while working closely with the Partners and helping to supervise and develop more junior lawyers.
The work offers a genuine mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:
- Advising senior executives and employers on complex employment issues
- Executive service agreements and employment documentation
- Strategic advice on reorganisations, redundancies and sensitive exits
- High-value Employment Tribunal and Court litigation
- Discrimination, whistleblowing and complex workplace disputes
- M&A support, due diligence and transactional employment matters
- Advising corporate clients on strategic HR issues
- Supervising and mentoring Associates and trainees
- Developing existing client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the practice
The Candidate
Applications are sought from employment lawyers with approximately 6–9 years PQE who have trained and developed within a strong employment practice.
You should ideally offer:
- A strong grounding across both contentious and non-contentious employment law
- Experience acting for employers and senior employees/executives
- Excellent technical ability and academics
- Experience managing sophisticated and high-value matters
- The confidence to deal directly with senior and HNW clients
- The ability to supervise and mentor junior lawyers
- An interest in business development and building your profile in the market
