Lex Exec is supporting a standout opportunity for an Employment Associate to join the London office of a highly regarded national law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious employment lawyer seeking a genuinely broad practice within a well-established and fast-growing London team.

The role offers exposure to a strong mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, acting for an impressive client base ranging from high-growth businesses through to established international organisations. The team has developed an excellent reputation for advising clients across sectors including technology, life sciences, insurance, private wealth and real estate.

You will work closely with senior lawyers in a collaborative and commercially minded environment, advising on a wide range of employment law matters including:

  • Employment Tribunal litigation
  • Restrictive covenant disputes
  • Senior exits and disciplinary matters
  • Employment support on corporate transactions
  • Outsourcing and restructuring projects
  • Drafting employment documentation and policies
  • Client training and business development initiatives

This opportunity would suit a lawyer with at least 2 years PQE gained within a reputable employment practice, who is looking for strong quality work, a supportive culture, and clear long-term progression prospects.

The London employment team forms part of a substantial national Employment, Pensions and Immigration practice, supported by dedicated PSLs and specialist resources. Despite this wider platform, the London team retains an entrepreneurial and collaborative feel, with genuine opportunities to make an impact as the practice continues to grow. The firm is particularly well known for its culture and people-first approach. Unlike many larger firms, there is a clear emphasis on long-term development, collaboration, flexibility and sustainability rather than purely short-term metrics.

The Ideal Candidate

You are likely to have:

  • 2+ years PQE in employment law
  • Strong experience across contentious and non-contentious matters
  • Excellent drafting and client communication skills
  • Confidence managing Employment Tribunal matters with increasing autonomy
  • A commercial and solutions-focused approach
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • An interest in business development and client training
  • Experience advising on restrictive covenants, team moves, or sector-specific employment work would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Additional languages would be advantageous but not essential.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • High quality and varied employment work
  • Strong existing client base across attractive sectors
  • Collaborative and well-resourced national platform
  • Genuine investment in career progression and development
  • Excellent culture consistently recognised in industry surveys
  • Flexible and supportive working environment
  • Opportunity to join a growing London team at an exciting stage
