Lex Exec is supporting a leading national law firm with the appointment of an Agricultural Property Solicitor to its Oxford practice.
This is a growth appointment within a busy team advising landed estates, farmers, institutional landowners and rural businesses. With substantial work already available, the opportunity offers close support from experienced agricultural property lawyers and exposure to complex rural transactions.
The opportunity
Ranked in the top tier of Chambers and The Legal 500, the practice acts for some of the UK’s largest estates.
You will work closely with senior colleagues across agricultural property matters, including:
- Acquisitions and disposals of farms, agricultural land and landed estates
- Rural property transactions involving complex title and landownership issues
- Farm and estate refinancing
- The property requirements of established farming and estate clients
The team’s work includes the acquisition of a landed estate comprising more than 200 acres and a £12.6 million refinancing involving farmland, a dairy unit and farm cottages.
Specialist colleagues across tax, trusts, planning, environmental law and agricultural litigation support the wider practice.
About you
The team would ideally appoint a solicitor with approximately 1–4 years’ PQE. Newly qualified solicitors with strong, relevant training experience will also be considered.
You will bring an interest in agricultural property, sound technical foundations and a personable approach to working with rural clients.
There is flexibility on experience for someone whose background and ambitions fit the team.
Location and remuneration
Oxford is the preferred base. An arrangement combining Oxford and Bristol office attendance may be considered where appropriate.
