Agricultural Property Senior Associate | 4–6 PQE | Oxford
Develop your agricultural property career working directly alongside the head of a nationally recognised specialist team.
Lex Exec is supporting a leading national law firm with the appointment of an experienced Agricultural Property lawyer to its Oxford practice.
This is a growth appointment driven by substantial client demand. You will work closely with the Head of Agricultural Property, taking responsibility for matters and helping deliver work for an established client base of landed estates, Oxford colleges, farmers, landowners and high-value private clients.
The opportunity
Ranked in the top tier of Chambers and The Legal 500, the practice acts for some of the UK’s largest estates across agricultural property, rural landownership and development matters.
The breadth of the practice offers exposure to both significant transactions and the ongoing property needs of rural clients. Your work will include:
-
Acquisitions and disposals of farms, agricultural land and landed estates
-
Agricultural tenancies and wider rural property matters
-
Complex title issues affecting estate and agricultural holdings
-
Farm and estate refinancing
-
Landowner-side development transactions, including option, promotion and hybrid agreements
-
Collaboration structures, equalisation arrangements and long-term development strategy
The team’s experience includes substantial agricultural land sales, promotion and collaboration agreements for major development schemes, acquisitions of sizeable estates involving complex title and land interests, and significant refinancing across working farms and rural property portfolios.
You will have access to specialist colleagues across tax, trusts, agricultural litigation, environmental law and planning, supporting a joined-up approach to clients’ affairs.
Your role
Working directly alongside the team head, you will take an active role in progressing substantial matters, managing transactions and developing client relationships.
The appointment will add experienced capacity to a busy practice, giving the team head more time for client-facing activity while providing you with close senior support and scope to take on responsibility.
About you
The team would ideally appoint a solicitor with approximately 4-6 years’ PQE, with flexibility for the right experience and capability.
You will have relevant agricultural property or rural estates experience, sound technical judgment and the confidence to manage matters and build trusted relationships with clients.
Experience of landowner-side development work would be valuable, alongside an interest in the broader property needs of agricultural and estate clients.
