Lex Exec is working with a highly regarded London law firm that is looking to strengthen its established Rural Property and Landed Estates practice through the appointment of an experienced Senior Associate or Legal Director.
The firm has an excellent reputation for advising prominent landed families, estate owners, trustees and high-net-worth individuals on complex property and private wealth matters.
This is an opportunity to join a respected practice with longstanding client relationships, high-quality work and a genuine interest in supporting the longer-term career progression of the successful individual.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will advise on a broad range of agricultural and rural property matters, working closely with experienced Partners and colleagues across the firm's Private Client and Real Estate practices.
The work may include:
- Acquisitions and disposals of farms, agricultural land and landed estates
- Advising landed families, trustees and estate owners on complex rural property transactions
- Agricultural tenancies, Farm Business Tenancies and estate management matters
- Strategic land transactions, development agreements, options and overage
- Rural diversification, renewable energy projects and natural capital opportunities
- Agricultural property aspects of succession and estate planning
- Advising on estate restructuring, property ownership and long-term land management
- Developing and maintaining relationships with landowners, rural surveyors and professional advisers
The role offers substantial client exposure, autonomy and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the continued development of the practice.
About You
We would welcome confidential conversations with experienced Rural Property and Agriculture Solicitors, particularly those currently operating at Senior Associate or Legal Director level.
We would also be interested in speaking with ambitious Senior Associates approaching Partnership, or established Salaried Partners who may be considering their longer-term options.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong experience in agricultural and rural property transactions
- A detailed understanding of landed estates, agricultural tenancies and rural land ownership
- Experience advising landed families, agricultural businesses and estate owners
- Excellent client relationship management and commercial judgement
- The ability to manage complex matters independently
- An interest in business development, mentoring and the continued growth of a specialist practice
A portable client following would be welcome but is not essential.
